Testing Omaru Creek for -Water Smell

I am going to find out.What is the smell of the water.                                                                                                                                           .

I am going to test this by:Smelling the culvert water.

Resources and equipment:Buckets, Jars  and a string.

I predict that:The culvert smells like eggs and water plants.

I think this because:Because we smelled it

Results of my tests

Seawater	The water smelled like nothing
Tap water	The water smelled like nothing
Omaru Creek water by culvert	The water smelled like eggs
Omaru Creek water by bridge	The water smelled like eggs that are not cooked and water plants

My conclusion (what I found out):I found out that the culvert water isn't green but it was see through and no floating bits in it

Mangere Pools

We couldn't have had a better ending to our year 5-6 camp than going to Mangere swimming pools. I said to myself OMG I have never been here before, this looks cool. We were very excited because I could hear the kids screaming in the bus.

Miss Va’afusuaga brought along us rolls and chocolate cake for lunch. Did you think that she had all that money to buy those kinds of food for the year five and six. I think that might fill up my tummy for lunch and the whole day. UMM....That chocolate cake melted in my mouth.

My favourite part of the day was going on the slide. As we were waiting our turn for the long slide looked scary. Then when it was my turn

Testing Omaru Creek for -Turbidity

I am going to find out:Turbidity how cloudy is the water

I am going to test this by:Checking by looking at words on the other side.

Resources and equipment:Buckets,Jars and string and a piece of paper with words

I predict that:That the environment should clean it and kill catfish and the bridge water you can not see the words and the culvert water you can see big and medium,tap water you can see all of them then the sea water you can see all of them.

I think this because:I think that to of the waters are going to be cloudy and the other two

Omaru Creek water by culvert	cloudy,murky because of the catfish is clogging it up
Omaru Creek water by bridge	cloudy because the catfish

My conclusion (what I found out):That there are catfish in the water at the creek and that is what is clogging the fish,eels and more living things at omaru creek.

Why I think this is:Because people are be mean to omaru creek and like it is there rubbish bin but it’s not.

Testing water

Testing Omaru Creek for -Colour

I am going to find out:What colour the water is

I am going to test this by:Comparing different water samples and describing the colour

Resources and equipment:4 water samples from 1.culvert-2.Bridge-3.Sea-4.Tap - Glass Jars

I predict that:Tap is clean-Sea is clear because the selt-Culvert is dark brown because the people are treating it like a rubbish bin-Bridge  is a sickly colour

I think this because:

Results of my tests

Sea Water	The sea water is transparent
Tap water	Tap water is transparent
Omaru Creek water by culvert	It has rudder from the road so that is why it’s murky
Omaru Creek water by bridge	The water is murky

My conclusion (what I found out):I think the sea water is clear because mangroves and it is almost the same as tap water. The culvert water is got rubber from the road that’s why it is murky.

Why I think this is:I think the bridge water is green because the plants under the water.

Camp Concert

Hello to the people that are reading my story this is the true crew at Pt England school hope you enjoy our movie.

Camp

This week is our year 6-5 Camp. We are sleeping in tents that are in our school ground. the team that I am in is the true crew the team leaders are Emmy and Taniela . We have done cooking and catching that is were you have to cook some thing for people and catching is you have to find some bit of paper and read the col.



Then there was a game called top town it is were to teams and the first  one to finish has to put up the the flag.If you do the Coors you could be fast or not.

Then the last thing we did was kayaking we didn't what to but mr burt said give it a try so I did

Hi to the people that are reading this we have been learning about eels this is my picture We have been reading an article about how to catch eels with a hinaki. This is a net made of wire netting that traps the eel inside. Here is a diagram to show you how it works.
